Chickomissar Privacy Policy

Chickomissar is designed as an on-device pantry ticket board and use-soon ladder. We respect your privacy and collect no personal identity profile from your kitchen habits.

1. Data Stored on Your Device

All pantry tins, barcode numbers, best-before dates, cook-day assignments, finish marks, waste marks, and horizon settings you enter in Chickomissar are stored locally on your device. You can delete items, reset demo data, or export your ledger as a CSV file from the Settings screen at any time.

2. Camera Access

When you open the Scan screen to read a product barcode (QR, EAN-13, EAN-8, or UPC-E), Chickomissar uses your device camera strictly for live barcode detection on the device. Camera frames are never recorded, stored, or transmitted off your device. If you prefer not to grant camera access, you can enter barcodes manually or search by product name.

3. Product Identity Lookup

When you scan a barcode or type a search query in the Scan screen, Chickomissar may query the public Open Food Facts catalog to suggest a product title and brand, alongside a bundled local shelf fallback. Only the barcode digits or search text are sent for lookup; no personal identifiers or pantry schedules are attached.

4. No Tracking or Advertising

Chickomissar does not include third-party advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics trackers, or cross-app profiling.
